Your Flu Friend

A flu friend can be a relative, neighbour or friend who, if you get flu, can collect medicines, food and other supplies on your behalf. This way you don't have to leave your home, so you can play your part in helping to reduce the spread of flu and have more time to rest up!

Flu friends and family should be people who live relatively close and be people you are happy to share personal health details with.

Once you have identified your flu friends and checked they are happy and able to help, you need to make sure they have everything they need.

In order to collect any prescribed medication for flu, your flu friend will need to show both your identification and theirs as well as a flu authorisation number. This authorisation number is given to you if you call the national pandemic line and are diagnosed with flu.
